✨Meditation on the detours life takes us on and the things we discover along the way ✨

Sometimes letting go is very active action: we intentionally decided that something doesn’t serve us anymore, we place it down and vow to move forward without it. This can take a considerable amount of time, decision making and willpower.

But other times, life kindly does some of the work for us by taking away something we thought we needed. This can be as simple as a plan that fell through but sometimes a lot more challenging and difficult to accept. In these situations we are forced to reroute and forge a path that we didn’t initially want to take. For me, the beauty of this is that sometimes the things we find on this alternative path are very special and we would have never found them otherwise.

Recently I started to practise reframing these situations, staring with the easy ones. Instead of being frustrated I began to shift the focus from the things that I am losing to the things I am about to receive. What could be a frustrating moment, quicky changes into one full of hope and infinite possibilities. I tell myself I am being redirected by the universe and I trust that what is coming is better then what didn’t.

Would you like to give it a go? Try this meditation

🧘‍♀️Find a comfortable seat or lying down position

🧘‍♀️Bring awareness to the points of contact with the surface beneath you and to the sensations of the room around you (smells, sounds, temperature), letting yourself full arrive where you are

🧘‍♀️ Keeping this feeling of being grounded, shift the attention to the breath and let it stay there for a few moments

🧘‍♀️ Now Imagine you could take a snapshot of your life right now. And as you were seeing it from a different perspective, Slowly start to zoom in to the aspects that are going well, the things you love and the ones you are most grateful for

🧘‍♀️ Try to bring to mind at least one thing that had to go “wrong” for this moment to exist, something you have lost, a plan that never materialise

🧘‍♀️ Can you allow the feeling of gratitude to extend not just to the things that you are grateful for but to all that had to happen before them

🧘‍♀️ Can you now extend this gratitude even further to something in your life that isn’t going quite as you wished. Can you try to face it with curiosity about where it’s leading you to?

🧘‍♀️ And finally plating a little the seed to of awareness, that will allow you to notice future moments of redirection and meeting them with the same curiosity and open heart

🧘‍♀️ Slowing coming back to the sensations of the room around you

If you try to meditation I would love to hear your experience

Lots of love and a beautiful Sunday to you all ❤️
